    Hood Century Open House: Black Modernist Edition is back for PART TWO!!!

    This year's Juneteenth weekend, we are touring the home of the legendary Dr. Patricia Bath in View Park, Los Angeles. Dr. Patricia Bath was the first Black woman on the faculty at UCLA's Jules Stein Eye Institute and the first black woman to receive a medical patent.

    The home was built in 1950-51 with the Bath family moving in 1977. A perfect example of Black Modernism that we inherited and made our own.

    Yo this is an Intergenerational event !!! Bring the family!!! We want everyone to experience a home like this with ease, seeing what Black Modernism looks like in action.

    The vibe is a kickback at your auntie house. Music, BYOB, playing cards n things.

    This tour is also a fundraising event to support the stewardship of the Dr. Patricia Bath Residence and Hood Century’s research.
